Grammas Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

• 3/4ths cup shortening
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/4th cup water
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 cup flour/
• 1 tsp. salt
• ½ tsp. soda
• 3 cups oats, uncooked

Beat shortenings,sugars,water,egg and vanilla together until creamy. Add salt, soda, flour and blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees 12 to 15 minutes.

Add choc. Chips, nuts, raisins or anything

• With convection oven and new cookie sheets bake at 315° for 12 minutes. Regular oven 350°.
• I use 1/2 cup Crisco and 1/4th cup butter otherwise the cookies get flat.
